چکیده

The scattering enhancement phenomenon is studied by numerically analyzing a bistatic radar cross-section (RCS) of a circular cylinder in a strong continuous random medium, under the condition that the spatial coherence length of the incident waves around the cylinder is larger enough than the size of the cylinder. The numerical analysis shows such a new result that the scattering is not enhanced in the backward direction but weakly enhanced in other directions near the back.

Interaction of Laser Beam and Gold Nanoparticles, Study of Scattering Intensity and the Effective Parameters

In this paper, the optical properties of gold nanoparticles investigated. For this purpose the scattering intensity of a laser beam incident on gold nanoparticles has been studied using Mie theory and their respective curves versus different parameters such as scattering angle, wavelength of the laser beam and the size of gold nanoparticles are plotted. Investigating and comparison of the depi...

Role of adenosine receptors and protein phosphatases in the reversal of pentylenetetrazol-induced potentiation phenomenon by theta pulse stimulation in the CA1 region of rat hippocampal slices

The effect of theta pulse stimulation (TPS) on pentylenetetrazol (PTZ)-induced long-term potentiation of population spikes (PS) was studied in the hippocampal CA1 in vitro. A transient PTZ application produced a long-lasting enhancement of PS amplitude. A 3-min episode of TPS delivered at a higher intensity produced complete reversal of the PTZ potentiation when delivered during the last minute...

Enhancement of FITC Fluorescence by Silver Colloids and Silver Island Films

Silver colloids and silver island films as fluorescence enhancement systems are the subject of this paper. Enhancement of fluorescence of molecules placed near metallic nanoparticles is a result of resonance interaction of exciting and emitted lights with surface plasmons. Two models explaining this phenomenon are presented. Processes of silver colloids and silver island films forming are descr...

Nanoparticle Properties and Synthesis Effects on Surface-Enhanced Raman Scattering Enhancement Factor: An Introduction

Raman spectroscopy has enabled researchers to map the specific chemical makeup of surfaces, solutions, and even cells. However, the inherent insensitivity of the technique makes it difficult to use and statistically complicated. When Raman active molecules are near gold or silver nanoparticles, the Raman intensity is significantly amplified. This phenomenon is referred to as surface-enhanced Ra...
